Cape Cod

It feels like summer just started, but already Labor Day weekend passed and school is just around the corner. I guess fasting for a whole month can really eat up your time (no pun intended ^^). Since we were unable to really go away my Dad planned the hoorah of the summer- a road trip to Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, and Vermont. Yup all three places in three and a half days.

We temporary moved in with an aunt of mine in Connecticut. Every morning we would set off to a new destination and every night we would come back for the night. Usually, on road trips it's just my family; one, mom, one dad, one annoying younger brother, and me. I never grew up in a big family, with blood cousins and aunts always nearby. However on this trip I got to experience what that would be like. Our car was a bit cramped, with ten people squeezed into a seven seater car, and constant noise but I think I enjoyed it.

Cape Cod is just breath taking. The scenic drive along the beach front and the picturesque beach houses were very peaceful, despite the weather.

From Cape Cod we took a ferry to Martha's Vineyard. Or at least we tried. There was no parking available near the ferry. We ended up parking in the parking lot of a shopping center after assurances from the locals that we wouldn't be towed (unless we were gone overnight). We missed the ferry by a few minutes and the next one wouldn't arrive for another hour and a half. So we decided to drive around Cape Cod.

A word of the wise, if you're going to Martha's Vineyard take the car ferry. Don't get me wrong, the Island Queen was a wonderful ferry ride but without a car we were forced to travel around Martha's Vineyard on foot.
