British Comfort Food and Abandoned Railways

In celebration of a year well done, Julie and I decided to go on an outing to see the High Line. The High Line is a gorgeous park built on top of an old abandoned subway line. It is absolutely gorgeous.

You can see the railway tracks, in between the trees and flowers. There are areas to sunbathe, food carts, and even benches to watch the traffic go by. The High Line is situated in Manhattan's meat packing district and runs in between towering buildings.

Before the High Line we checked out Tea and Sympathy. A quint but delicious restaurant near the High Line.

Julie ordered tea and an egg salad sandwich.

I wanted to try some sort of pie. I've always to taste pot pie, but decided to go with their fish pie. It was HEAVENLY. There was backed potato on top and then creamy fish (salmon?) underneath. Sooo good.

This was a very successful celebration and I would highly recommend checking out both areas.

Peace, Love, and Hijabs,
Naila
